Kitchen Extraction unit

Hi,
Has anyone changed their extractor unit (the one above the cooker) with a different model without removing the cupboard?
I think the previous resident didn't clean it for several years and requires replacement.

i find the 600mm pull out fan units are not very good.

Thanks. After speaking to a few people, it seems I don't have much choice except to buy the same unit or German Pool for twice as much $!
